Hello Dreamers,
Sometimes after a dream we can do mental gymnastics to translate symbolism into what fits our current understanding of what we already are and know. These can often be terribly ego bound and fanciful interpretations. The pretentiousness behind some dream translations can further fuel ego and self satisfaction. We must be on the lookout for our own worldly selves fully taking ownership of our hearts.
This standalone approach to dreams can be completely wrong and misleading – opening up ourselves to the creation of narratives that are false or entirely unrelated to the true meaning of the dream.
Here are some reasons why such approaches can be wrong:
Sequential dreams – either from the ‘past’, or from the ‘future’, are not linked to the dream that we wrongly think is a stand alone dream. Other dreams can give more information. Dream markers can be signs that dreams are related – a certain person, colour, animal or shape.
Sometimes, so too can omens and synchronous activity give dreams meaning in the so called waking world. This can be further driven home by cycles that repeat themselves – or what some people have termed loops. Meeting people with the same name to show you that you have not yet learned a lesson from this previous person for example can be a sign you need to ‘look again’.
I know you think it’s always about you, but it isn’t – sometimes you are not you in the dream. I know – it feels like you, you thought it was your girlfriend or boyfriend you were thinking of, but perhaps that girlfriend or boyfriend feel familiar because you are inside someone else’s familiarity. Perhaps there is someone you need to help, or connect with, to lighten the load. Arguably, you may dream about others because you perceive helping others as being good. Maybe, as I believe, there is a higher power that we can connect to that appreciates this and wants us to grow beyond our own ego.
Various forms or levels of consciousness can weave beautiful tapestries for us to learn about ourselves.
Thanks for reading.
