Dream Stops Woman Progressing to Chance at £98,000 Grand Prize

In a show first, a contestant on ITV’s The 1% Club, walked away with a lower prize without opting at the chance to win a share of the jackpot thanks to a series of dreams.

Briton, Liz, was the first contestant to act on a dream, when a premonition showed her that if she went for the Jackpot prize she would lose everything – and go home with nothing.

She previously dreamt that she would win £10,000 but then had a second dream that she would not know the answer to the final question and lose everything. When in the waking world she had progressed to the chance at taking the lower, but still healthy sum of £10,000, she took the money and ran.

The final question that she would have had to answer had she progressed was:

“If you can roll six different numbers using one standard die, how many different totals can you make by rolling three identical standard dice?”

Can you work it out?

Her answer would have been 180, but the true answer to the question was 16. It was clear she would have most likely got the question wrong unless perhaps a different series of events may have jolted her logic.

One fan of the show commented on X:

The story demonstrates how specific information about the “future” can be gained from our dreams. In this case, her dreams not only told her she would not win the main prize, but that she would win the £10,000. This prize amount comes at a stage in the game show where you must make a choice to put your money in a prize kitty and go for the big prize, or take a maximum of £10,000 or less – depending on whether others also choose the £10,000. To get to that stage Liz had to correctly answer a series of questions – which she did!

Whilst the £10,000 was a known benchmark where a major decision would have to be made, the fact she had a second dream warning her she would lose is remarkable, regardless if the choice she made would have made it more likely she would win any cash at all. It could well be argued that her brain calculated the odds in her sleep – but her incorrect answer to the dice question may suggest otherwise!

Thanks for reading Dreamer. Don’t forget: if you want to wake up – go to sleep. 🦋
